Craft Byelaws

Governing the Craft in Northern India

The Byelaws of the Regional Grand Lodge of Northern India govern the administration of all Craft Lodges working within this jurisdiction. They are subordinate to the Book of Constitutions of the Grand Lodge of India and must be read in conjunction with it.

The Byelaws cover:

  • The formation and registration of new Craft Lodges
  • The election and installation of lodge officers
  • The admission and progression of candidates
  • The financial obligations of lodges to RGLNI
  • The conduct of lodge meetings and lodge business
  • Visiting, courtesy, and protocol between lodges
  • Appeals, complaints, and disciplinary matters

All 133 Craft Lodges under RGLNI are required to have byelaws that conform with these Regional Byelaws. Lodge byelaws must be submitted to the Regional Grand Secretary for approval before they come into force.
