Vision as a Human Right
The Masonic Eye Centre was established by RGLNI to address one of India's most pressing public health challenges: preventable blindness. Cataract-related blindness disproportionately affects the rural poor — those least able to access or afford treatment.
Through the Eye Centre, RGLNI provides completely free cataract surgery, post-operative care, and corrective spectacles to patients who would otherwise lose their sight permanently. The programme also conducts regular eye camps in rural areas to identify patients who need treatment.
Since its establishment, the Eye Centre has conducted thousands of surgeries and restored sight to patients from across Northern India and beyond.
