Jail Day Care Centre & Artificial Limb Project — Ludhiana.

Lodge Vishwakarma #173

Reaching the Unreachable

Lodge Vishwakarma #173 in Ludhiana runs two of RGLNI's most distinctive and impactful charitable programmes — the Jail Day Care Centre and the Artificial Limb Project.

The Jail Day Care Centre

The Jail Day Care Centre at Ludhiana is one of RGLNI's most remarkable charitable initiatives — a programme that serves children who live inside Ludhiana Central Jail with their incarcerated mothers.

These children, through no fault of their own, are born into or grow up in a prison environment. The Day Care Centre provides them with a safe, nurturing space — with education, play, nutrition, and care — so that their earliest years are not entirely defined by the circumstances of their confinement.

The programme is run by dedicated staff supported by Lodge Vishwakarma and has become a model for Masonic prison reform in India.

The Artificial Limb Project

The Artificial Limb Project provides free prosthetic limbs to amputees who cannot afford them — restoring mobility, dignity, and independence to individuals who might otherwise face a life of dependency.

Through partnerships with leading prosthetic centres and with the support of Lodge Vishwakarma #173, the project has provided limbs to hundreds of beneficiaries. Each limb represents not just physical restoration, but the return of a person's ability to earn a livelihood and participate fully in society.

The project operates in Ludhiana but extends its reach to beneficiaries from across Punjab and the adjoining states through periodic camps.
