A Lodge of Instruction is not a regular lodge — it is a school for Freemasons. Here, Brethren practice the ritual, learn correct procedure, and deepen their understanding of the Masonic system in a supportive and educational setting.

What is a Lodge of Instruction?

A Lodge of Instruction meets under the supervision of an Installed Master and is open to all Master Masons who wish to improve their ritual and understanding. The atmosphere is informal and encouraging — mistakes are learning opportunities, not embarrassments.

Lodges of Instruction are particularly valuable for:

  • New Master Masons learning the Craft degrees for the first time
  • Lodge officers preparing to take office
  • Experienced Brethren who wish to maintain and improve their proficiency
  • Any Mason who wants to understand more deeply what the ritual means

Under the Masonic Education Committee of RGLNI, several Lodges of Instruction operate across Northern India, with particular activity in Delhi, Chandigarh, and Lucknow.

Meeting regularly at Freemasons' Hall, Janpath. Open to all Brethren under RGLNI. Contact the Regional Secretary for meeting schedule.

Want to establish one in your city?

Any group of three or more Master Masons can petition the Regional Grand Lodge to form a Lodge of Instruction. The Masonic Education Committee will guide you through the process.
